The product

BeOptimal is a kitchen-management platform for contract caterers, canteens and multi-site kitchens. It connects the till, the kitchen and the storeroom, so stock, sales and margins line up every day instead of at month-end.

It’s one of the ventures I’m building at JumpLab, my venture lab for turning early ideas into working products.

Brand

I created the identity, “Less waste. More gravy.”: a confident blue, an editorial italic for headlines, and food photography styled like specimens. The tone is playful but precise, written for operations managers, controllers and stock supervisors.

Pooled buying: “Buy together. Pay less.”

Product & site

I designed the platform story around the people who use it: catching stock problems early, keeping every site to one standard, reconciling in minutes and counting stock on a phone.

Design engineering

I built the front end myself with AI-assisted development, working from my own design system into production code. Designing and building in one loop meant every screen was tested in the browser, not just in Figma.
